In an exciting development, three final-year Architecture & Planning undergraduate students will be carrying out a planning study of Fishponds Road on behalf of Fishponds Planning.
The study will take a detailed look at the section of A432 Fishponds Road from it’s near-boundary with South Gloucestershire (near the junction of the Cross Hands public house) and the junction of Royate Hill.
Key retail and development sites within this stretch of road will be examined, including historic buildings like the United Free Methodist Church and Farriers Arms Public House at the junction with Hockey’s Lane, as well as Beacon Tower and the Bristol Tile warehouse.
The study will be completed over a five week period in late April and early May and will culminate in a presentation to the group, with the resulting maps, plans and other visual displays being made public shortly after.
It’s hoped that the project will help engage wider community interest in the group’s work and feed into a longer term strategy for a Neighbourhood Development Plan or Community Vision document.
