Fishponds Academy staff member Franc Herrity and his team are currently carrying out renovations to the old Fishponds Library building – and judging by the newly painted exterior, we can expect the project to be carried out to a high standard.
Originally a cinema, the prominent building at the crossroads of Fishponds Road and Channons Hill is being given a new lease of life as part of the Fishponds Academy infants and junior school. The school plans to extend use to community groups and residents, for meeting space and events.
The new interior will feature a mezzanine floor to the rear of the building to maximise usable space, but the rest of the interior will retain the full ceiling height. All the original windows are retained and restored.
We look forward to seeing the end result of this sympathetic and sustainable development – well done so far!
